Salma at front desk very nice. One elevator out of service but it doesnt seem to be slowing any of us down. Rooms typical Hampton Inn quality and ours was clean and with fresh-scented Zero toiletries. I had to learn the TV listings are now in the QR code on the nightstand sticker so we could watch the ACC Tournament Championship. Breakfast had lots of choices and great strong coffee. They also kept a table by the desk all day with hot tea and fruit-infused water and fresh cookies. Fitness center perfect for a good workout. We drove three hours to attend a wedding and this was a nice place to rest, eat, and return to life after the wedding.
Rooms: Clean and double queen had nice desk area, mini fridge and microwave and Zero brand toiletries
Walkability: Easy to access parking, nearby areas
Food & drinks: Great choices for breakfast and strong coffee and other options within walking distance
Noteworthy details: Well-equipped Hampton with nice staff

I stayed at this location while I was doing business in the area, easy in and out. I wish there were some better restaurants within walking distance. Nice area, good clean hotel, they had a nice fitness center, more than just cardio equipment, they had dumbells and a resistance machine. My suite was nice and clean.
Walkability: Nice area to walk around.
Food & drinks: There are some chain restaurants within walking distance.

Very nice. Slept like a
"log" for the first time in weeks. My daughter and I loved the shower. It was divine, and didn't want to leave the shower. We enjoyed the continental breakfast as well!
Rooms: The rooms were very nice. Loved the firm beds.
I don't walk well, but at least we were on the 1st floor.

Nearby activities: Close to the mall and movie house.
Safety: Would like to see some hand rails for the elderly walking down the hallways.

The General Mgr. Billy Walker & most of the staff that met including Pam & Floyd who alternate serving continental breakfast most days and McKenzie 1st shift, Elle who 2nd shift front desk are all very delightful, extremely helpful and very accommodating & will make sure that you are satisfied with your rooms & the service at Hampton Inn & Suites in Shelby I was touched by compassion and their kindness to me while I was staying there in fact I was upgraded to a suite because I had to change rooms in order to accommodate another guest who needed an adjoining room which I happen to have & I took a smaller room but the manager saw that & moved me to a full size suite at the same best rate available.
This is a very nice and relaxing place to stay for whatever reason. In my case it is a place for me to stay because our house was destroyed by a tornado & we went from having a very nice house to technically being homeless & all three of us who lived in the house had to find a different place to live & immediately because the house went from a nice comfortable very generous place to live to completely uninhabitable from three large oak trees that we're picked up & thrown on our house, rain pouring in like waterfalls.

Thanks to all the staff for a safe comfortable place to rest for me & my pet bunny who comfortably stayed in his cage. Unfortunately I found as my stay grew longer some staff members grew less accommodating I Guess I Outstayed My Welcome!
but I definitely enjoyed this hotel; it's beautiful! I enjoyed my stay, I guess two months is a long time for some people to be glad to see the same guest(s) for weeks. I guess some got tired of seeing me after a while no matter how kind I was to them. I guess some staff like to have more guests on shorter stays & less long term guests. Plus this was a stressful 2 months for the hotel. The GM got his hands dirty after a lightning storm hit the hotel & personally worked w his staff to replace 20+ air conditioners & 34+ televisions. They worked hard to get the internet up for guest, they rearranged as many guests as needed & wanted to be to get them into air condition rooms & to take those who needed access to elevators to first floor bc elevators were broken bc of the storm, 1 was fixed the other was out 2 wks.
The staff especially front desk staff & maintenance staff all worked; GM Billy did a lot of this manual physical work himself & worked overtime to make sure that these air conditioners & TV's were replaced & working for the American Legion World Series that was the next 2 weeks. I saw his dedication to serving his guest and keeping his hotel OPEN despite a large number of vital hotel electronic, electrical, mechanical items being destroyed or needing repairs by that lightning storm that was one of the worst I've ever seen in my lifetime.
This is a hotel that strives to satisfy serve, be friendly to their guest.
They work hard to make sure everyone is happy w their stay & if they're not they will make it right w their bill or help them get another hotel if necessary.*
I enjoyed my stay.
I offered several times to help if I could, but of course I should've known bc of insurance reasons he said no it's okay we've got it you can't do that you're a guest thank you though. But of course that didn't stop me from picking up occasional plastic pieces or something that I saw that were getting ready to go into the storm drain that accidentally dropped from a car, trash truck.
