Masters Inn Selma/Smithfield I-95 By OYO

I had booked a room for June 28-29 2024 then found out that if you live 75 miles away from Masters inn in Selma NC that they won't rent you a room. The owners say that Johnston county told them that. Rooms: Rooms have a bad smell when you first walk in

The check-in service was pleasant, but that's about it. The room was disgusting. I needed to sleep there for a few hours because my airbnb wasn't ready yet. I got to the room, and there was no light attached to the switch. So i had to blindly walk into the room and hit the wall lamp. Once inside, the room there was paint peeling off the walls. There was duct tape on the wall behind the headboard. The bedspread had a big hole in it. There were a total of 3 outlets in the room, and 2 were occupied by the lamp and the desk (chich had an outlet on it. The desk outlet only worked with one socket so in order to charge my 2 phones i had to unplug the lamp to use one socket and use the only working socket on the desk (which was across from the bed). The bed looked dirty. The bathroom had the exhaust fan cover held on with 6 pieces of duct tape. The toilet seat was filthy, and to put the cherry on top of the whole experience, it was roach infested. The mini fridge had a full sized roach in the freezer. So that made me nervous. I didn't want to sleep in the bed, so I opted to sleep in the desk chair. I woke up after an hour to use the bathroom and came back to see a roach egg in the chair i was sitting in (see pictures). And while looking at it, i see a few baby roaches crawling on the desk that i had just awakened from (had my head down on it sleeping, ew). I open the desk drawer to find a bunch of baby roaches fleeing from it. Then i look down and find a few more adult roaches on the carpet crawling around plus one on the bathroom sink. I got my stuff and checked out after being there for 4 hours and only sleeping for 1. I went to check out, and the office door was locked, and the guy ran up to open it. I informed him of the infestation, and he replied with "i will call pest control" before closing and locking the door. I would NEVER return here.

I highly do not recommend this place! It is dirty..the rugs have stains on them and the wash clothes and towels have stains on them. They have drug addicts walking around..broken glass everywhere. They say the allow pets but the have no accomodations for pets theY will put u on the second floor so there long term residents who have pets can stay on the first floor .they will yell at u if ur dog go to the bathroom on there property even when u say u r picking it up.they will also put u in a room to where as tho the camera can see straight into ur room and they will watch u all night .I did not feel safe at all. the Cable was messing up .the shower was dirty.i could go on! There r better hotels right around the corner for about the say price ! PLEASE BEWARE! I USUALLY DONT DO THIS KIND OF THING BUT THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! IF I COULD DO NO STARS I WOULD!

I honestly wish I could give -10 stars So I dont usually do this. If you have an ESA, and are coming to the Selma/Smithfield area of NC and you were wanting to stay at the Masters Inn with your ESA, just know that they discriminate against cats. So if youre like me with ESAs that are cats, they are going to charge you their pet fees ($10/pet/night). We were told before we officially made our reservation, that my ESA Cats would be able to stay for free since I have my paperwork. When we arrived, we were told that only service DOGS stay free. The amount of stress this has put BOTH me, my husband, AND the cats is unprofessional, disrespectful, disgusting, AND disappointing. I will say the customer service was VERY helpful with working with the manager to issue me a full refund. However, the fact that this ordeal even happened the way it has, and our FULL reservation to the T of what we were told not being honored, is absolutely ridiculous. So if you would like to avoid all of that, like I wish I could have, stay away. Noteworthy details: They do not abide by the service animal laws.
