We were on a 2 wk road trip from NY and our AC went warm on our 3rd day. We drove for a couple hours with the windows down trying to make it to our B&B. I googled Auto AC repairs and found Dale was in Salvo, NC just a mile away from where we were staying in Avon NC. I also saw he had numerous good reviews. I called and he said he could check it out the next morning. Dale set up the car to run the ac and check pressures. He spent about an hour, made me a cup of coffee and finally showed me the problem. My cabin air filter was so full of leaves it was not allowing the ac to work. He charged for less then a half hour (based on mechanics shop rates in NY area) and I was astounded and tipped him. He is a very nice guy and told me he never wanted to take advantage of anyone and couldn't see how some shops would do that. So on top of a very cheap but excellent repair (I'll be checking my cabin air filter much more frequently in future) I had a great cup of coffee and a fun chat with a great cool guy and excellent mechanic! 1,700 miles later the ac is working like a champ. You can't go wrong with Dale for any auto issue!!

Dale is awesome. I had a family vacation with three of my cars used to transport--sedan, minivan and 15 passenger van- 14 people and supplies to house.. We had quite a bit of rain and flooding in Waves that week. Sedan got driven in the rain and bottomed out in a pothole. Losing wheel well liner and most of plastic splash guard underneath, leaving it dragging on Tuesday,. On Thursday afternoon minivan had electrical problems due to being driven thru puddles and then cross charged by a teenager. The folks at the Blue Whale directed me to Dale's Auto. I walked down the now flooded road. I explained my double predicament to Dale. He offered to come after normal hours to help diagnose in the minivan. I thanked him and asked to borrow a few sockets to remove the rest of the sedans dragging plastic shield. He joked that now I knew he would show up after work for the sockets. I got the shield off and met Dale around sunset he diagnosed alternator being issue. He told me he had a full slate of Friday and could not do it. He ordered the part via Advance Auto in Manteo. I drove out that night picked it up. I had the car towed to his garage on Friday morning. With a bit of guidance, many a story and an occasional tool I had the alternator swapped by 1PM. I have been going to the Outer Banks for years. Dale is the epitome of what makes it a special place. I had the pleasure of seeing him interact with others who were in dire straights with car issues that Friday, like myself. In the end Dale asked for nothing.. I gave him a little more than nothing to settle up. He tried to fight what I gave him .. but I was just paying it forward as I saw him do for others eventually it comes back to you. Side note: All vehicles made it back without issue and next time I am in Outer Banks.. I will be dropping off a bottle of Jameson. Until then Dale take care. August 2023 Jameson delivered!

We were visiting Avon for the week and on the way down had some engine problems. Although Dale could not squeeze us in to fix our problem, he gave us a diagnosis that assured us we could get home safely. He was honest and knowledgeable, and you could tell he wanted to help. We would recommend him for your vehicle needs!!

Dale is a local guy that takes good care of you and your vehicle, will never try to rip you off. Highly recommended.
