Tech Authority is an exceptional business, both in the services provided and as a community partner for human service agencies in Rockingham County. For over 20 years, I have worked for a struggling non-profit that provides services for those in need. For the past three years, the Tech Authority staff has serviced one of our computer systems, and has provided immediate, professional response every time we have had issues. Above and beyond quality and professional services, Tech Authority has supported the Rockingham and surrounding communities with staff time in leadership roles and monetarily with sponsorships. Tech Authority staff works diligently to maintain cutting edge tech qualifications and certifications, equally weaving philanthropy into its daily business practices. Tech Authority is a rare gem in our community.

Absolutely terrible. Took a gaming computer that was newly put together that wouldn't give video to them to troubleshoot the problem and they gave the most bulls*** diagnosis. All the computer components except the power supply and hard drive were brand new out of the box and their diagnosis was that there was no drivers on the machine to support video. Now I don't have A+ certification, but I do have a fair amount of know-how when it comes to gaming PCs. I've built many computers in the past, but sometimes it's best to seek a professional when you can't get something going. I know that every motherboard comes with a display driver already installed so you WILL receive video without a graphics card. You also do not need drivers besides the video to install the operating system. I also know...because stupidity is something I like to avoid...is that all the components in the computer were compatible with each other. To make matters even worse, they said that it would be $500 to repair the computer! Not on your life! They also recommend that the components be returned and that a new computer could be bought for $300. Yeah...no. Gaming computers DO NOT cost $300. They cost at least $900 to $1,300 and it's best you build those computers yourself so you get the exact performance you want. I've seen my fair share of bad technicians, but these guys take the cake. They handled this in a completely unprofessional manner. They called with three of them on speaker phone saying that it would cost astronomical amounts of money to fix...quite literally...a non-existing problem. So, the computer was sent to a different tech...who properly diagnosed the issue and has since resolved the issue...in a span of two hours rather than the six Tech Authority said it would take. The second tech also took the liberty of preventing another repair call by resolving what he saw as a weakness. Bottom line: Tech Authority has ZERO right to call themselves "authorities" in the computer business. If these guys actually do have A+ and Net+ certification, their examiner must have been sleeping through marking their exams. What time wasters they were. If I could give a 0/5...I would.

Business Response on Google Feb 28th, 2022
I am curious as to which company you work for? I don't recognize doing any business by your review name. Are you have not confused us with another Tech Authority not in NC?
