Dr. Ashwin A. Patkar MD (Avance Psychiatry)

I'm writing to express my sincere appreciation for Dr. Patkar. I've been working with him for a number of years now, both in person and online, and have found him to be an invaluable resource in my mental health journey. Dr. Patkar provides a safe and comfortable space (both in person and online) to discuss my challenges, which have been significant. He listens attentively and without judgement, which has been crucial in building trust. He has a deep understanding of mental health conditions and medications and has been instrumental in developing a treatment plan that works for me. He is always up-to-date on the latest research and treatment options. In our most recent session, we discussed various trials of new treatments that will hopefully become available over the next year or so, and he was completely open to my desire to explore these options. Dr. Patkar explains things clearly and concisely, making sure I understand all aspects of my treatment. He works collaboratively with me, taking my input and preferences into account when making decisions about my care. Since working with Dr. Patkar, I've seen significant improvements in my mental health. I am better able to manage my challenges and live a more fulfilling life. On top of all of this, he is an extremely kind and caring individual. If you are looking for an extremely knowledgeable, supportive and effective psychiatrist, I highly recommend Dr. Patkar.

I've been seeing Dr. Patkar for at least a few years now and he is top notch. He has me on a really good treatment plan and I trust him. He has helped me stay well for a long time.

If I could give Dr. Patkar and his staff 10 stars I would. Truly the most caring doctor and staff I ever encountered in any shape or form. The absolute best. I feel like he literally saved my life.

The reviews speak for themselves; Dr. Patkar is not only the best Psychiatrist Ive ever had, but arguably the best doctor Ive ever had. Dr. Patkars advantage is his extensive background in clinical and research experience. He can identify the small details, while also connecting them to the big picture. He has quite literally changed my life. His staff are also incredible; super friendly, diligent, and responsive to patient needs. The best psychiatric healthcare in the Triangle area by far.
