This morning my check engine light came on, I went to AutoZone to see whats wrong, I bought the part and proceeded to call this Precision Auto repair location to see if they can install the part. The issue was an Evap leak dealing with my gas. Basically the my engine isnt recycling the gas correctly. I spoke with Brandon, he told me that the check engine light machine that AutoZone uses can be inaccurate and that I should come in for a diagnostics test. The manager I believe is Chase, (he was wearing all black today), told me that the diagnostic was supposedly to check whats wrong with the car. Chase pulls me to the back where my car was at and proceeded to tell me that I needed a new pinion seal, and fluid, which would amount to about $400-500 including labor and parts. There was also other stuff he mentioned I needed which amount to over $800 total. I never ever had an issue with the pinion seal before, but now its all of sudden so bad that I need to get it replaced. I proceed to tell them I only want an oil change. On the top of the paper it mentions that the oil change was $35. Chase did not mention the up charge for a full synthetic blend which is highlighted below for $24, nor the up charge for $8.99 for an extra quart. Brandon rung me up for these extra charges. He was the one who told me about these extra charges. Thankfully he proceeded to charge me for the regular base oil change, and gave me an extra $10 off. My issue is that, I went in for one thing, they talked me out of that saying I need a pointless diagnostic test which doesnt even include a paper or form stating whats good, what needs to replaced soon or whats bad with the car. They tried to give me extra charges that wasnt mentioned, and they didnt even fix my issue. $200 down the drain. The diagnostic was $145 and the oil change was $35 including the extra quart and the $10 off. The diagnostic didnt let me know if I need new tires or if they are good or anything of the sort, but hey you have a $400 pinion leak. I know for a fact I need new wiper blades, they didnt catch that? But hey they did catch that I need an engine air filter now, and I need a flush out the fuel for the pinion seal leak to go away. Worst service I ever had.
