Ridiculous patient experience. I've been trying to get an appointment for the past two weeks. In that time, I've been seen at urgent care and referred to a specialist, and have not been able to follow up with my primary care provider at RAM. First, they make you download a patient portal app, but have disabled any features that would allow you to send messages to your provider or request an appointment. Second, I have filled out the online appointment request (twice) through their website, which indicates an expected 48-hour response time. I haven't heard back in six business days. Third, their phone system is completely flawed. The "press 1 for, press 2 for" functionality only works for iPhones. If you press any of the numbers calling from an Android device, the message just repeats and doesn't register your responses. Fourth, the staff seemingly doesn't answer the phone, or they are understaffed to serve their call volume. I have been on hold for the operator multiple times, different days of the week, and different times of day for 15, 20, and as long as 35 minutes at a time with no one picking up once. This has been my experience trying to get in for a care appointment when I'm unwell. My experience coming in for an annual exam was only slightly better. The office staff was cold and unfriendly, the waiting area was dirty, and the patient rooms were just untidy. My provider seemed knowledgeable but highly impatient. She interrupted me when I was explaining my medical history. And when I handed her the sheet of "current conditions" -- which the front office has instructed me to fill out, not something I had asked for -- without even looking at it, she said "I don't have time to talk about all of this, you'd need to schedule a different appointment." I used to see Dr. Mary Forbes, who retired last year and was the pinnacle of attention, professionalism, and care. If anyone has a recommendation for an internist not at RAM, please let me know. I won't be going back here.
