I chose Dr Hicks as my PCP because of her background and demographic. I chose to retain her as my PCP because Dr Hicks is knowledgeable and attentive. She truly makes me feel heard!

I have been a patient of Dr Hicks at WakeMed North at 10,000 Falls of the Neuse in Raleigh for the past year and a half and I wanted you to know that I believe she may have saved my life. Dr Hicks is concerned and involved with her patients and it is clearly evident in her work and in every member of her staff. She prescribed a heart medication for me ostensibly to help me with the pain of angina but this drug did much more for me. As far as I'm concerned, Dr Hicks saved my life. I am 78 years old and I am experiencing congestive heart failure coupled with Diabetes II. The medication that had been prescribed for me by the Veterans' Hospital in Durham was having no positive effect on my chest pains and fluid retention. I was losing ground daily and becoming more and more house bound because I couldn't move much without shortness of breath and chest pain. I thought it was the end of the trail. Dr Hicks revamped my prescriptions, ordered labs and worked with me to find a positive path forward. I am forever in her debt for her generosity of spirt and her medical expertise. Dr Hicks has given me my life back and I wanted you folks to know. I may still be off the life insurance actuary tables and presumed dead by those folks, but I have been given an extension to my 'stay' here by Dr Hicks and I appreciate it very much indeed!
