        If only I could rate Mamatha less than one I would. I spent a couple of years as a patient, and her only interest was on maintenance of symptoms, not resolving root cause. It came to a boiling point in 2019 where I visited her practice trying to find why a fairly simple functional pill had such a profound effect on me, in a positive way. I recorded the session because it was an important event. She laughed at me about the effect of the pill, calling it a placebo, and then in a totally obtuse fashion suggested I try CBD Oil next. How utterly dense. I went seeking help and a scientific answer (of which I now have), and she made light and refused blood tests I asked for.

        I have been seeing Dr Agrawal longer than I can remember. I have followed her to several locations over the years. My husband even goes to her now and she is the only woman Dr. he has. We suggested her to a male friend and now he is a patient too. She is very patient and listens to all my concerns. I totally trust her. If she wasn't my doctor, I would invite her to lunch.

      Mamatha Agrawal, MD

      I have been in family practice in the area since 2000, initially at Rex Family Practice of Cary. I knew I was interested in medicine when I was in preschool and knew I was interested in family medicine when I applied for a combined undergraduate and medical degree at age 17. I value continuity of care, and my interests include minor office procedures, prescribing and deprescribing medication, patient experience, and looking at a patient holistically. Reading about medicine is a daily activity for me. My two grown daughters went through Wake County Schools, and my husband is a cardiologist with North Carolina Heart and Vascular. It is my privilege to be part of UNC Physicians Network, its mission, as well as the fantastic staff at my location and in my region. I like to help patients by giving a family physician opinion on any medical problem and to help them coordinate care with the great emergency and urgent care physicians, hospitalists, and specialists that are part of UNC Health.
