My favorite access to little hump and big hump mtn. The red barn shelter is down it as well. Fyi- the gravel road to access the trail can have massive holes so bring a truck or jeep.

Gravel road a little bumpy but still passable with 4 door sedan (not offroad vehicle by any means). Less than a mile walk to Overmountain shelter. Nice day hike to Hump Mtn. Parking: Limited spots maybe for 6 to 8 car sized vehicles.

One of the best hikes to the Little Hump and Hump mountains, especially beautiful in August when the mountains are covered with flowers of many colors.

Great hike up to the Appalachian Trail. We hiked a couple of miles on the AT along the North Carolina Tennessee border. The hike was uphill most of the way but the views were worthwhile. Be aware that the last mile to the trailhead is dirt/ gravel and rocky in some areas.
