Grizzley Bear Restaurant

New ownership since November 2023. A husband-wife team is out to make a mark in Murphy NC as the only completely made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch restaurant in the area. They made their mark. My breakfast was delicious! The eggs were done like home and the grits were cooked fresh and not a package. The pork sausage was a patty but it was homemade and you could see the pork, not a fine ground mystery patty. I am told that there is a 3-legged pig out back. Very recommended.

Worst biscuits and gravy I ever ate. I'm sorry, but yes. I'm not sure what I was tasting. Either stale biscuit, or too much flour or cornstarch. I added pepper and hot sauce...it didn't help. Very starchy, floury,gravy. (I ate half, trying to figure out stale or too much flour?) Scrambled eggs were fine and potatoes too. Sorry guys. Change the gravy recipe. The service was fantastic!

I did like the breakfast but I think you should have more syrup options. Maybe Pearl Milling, Alga, Log Cabin, because everyone may not like Mrs. Butter Worths. I think on the mama bear breakfast it should have 2 pieces of sausage and more grits. I love the hospitality I experienced though. prices are definitely reasonable.
