Bad services I guess all the branches don't have the same rules. Even though they are the same bank name... the manager and the teller refused to cash my check

Went into First Community Bank on Independence in Mt. Airy today (6/29/22). I inquired about opening an account and also asked whether or not they had Zelle. First, the teller proceeds to inform me about opening an account right at the window in the open where other people would be able to hear (who does that?). She was very LOUD. As many bank accounts that I've opened over the years, not one was conducted at the teller's window. It was always in the privacy of an office. Secondly, the teller indicates that their Zelle system was down and had no idea when it would be operational. Well, you would think that she would try to find out when it would be available. I asked if she could call her corporate office to find out. Instead of calling, she tells me she emailed them (I don't know if she did or didn't). You would think that she would go the extra mile to find out what she could from the corporate office. I stepped outside to attempt to call the corporate office myself but my cell signal was really bad. I went back into the bank and another lady called me into her office and said she could help. I asked her about Zelle and she very LOUDLY states she doesn't know when it would be back online. Very poor customer service; these ladies could have cared less about me opening an account nor assisting in finding out when the Zelle system would be available. Both of them spoke to me in a very condescending tone/matter. Very disrespectful. I left and googled banks in Mt. Airy and called First Citizens Bank (502 North Main Street). Spoke to a teller her name was Nicky. She was very pleasant over the phone and provided me with information regarding features of their checking and savings accounts and I told her that I would be there in 2 minutes to open an account. Got there and Katrina Evans helped me to open an account. The experience was EXTREMELY PLEASANT, PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTFUL! Katrina informed me that after I made the called, Nicky sent an internal email letting them know I was on my way. TOTALLY IMPRESSED!!! THANK YOU FIRST COMMUNITY BANK for your LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE because I would never had gone to FIRST CITIZENS BANK. Just a suggestion First Community Bank, you might want to go over to First Citizens Bank and take a lesson or two (or three) on how to treat potential customers.

I have had an account with First Community Bank for over 15 years. They had a heavy footprint in NC, however, in recent years have pulled back somewhat from the Winston-Salem market. They have really great customer service, so I decided to stay with them when they sold off that part of the business. Im really glad I did. My wife is a raft guide in WV, so it makes sense for us to keep that account to deposit checks into in the Beckley, WV area. We recently had some fraud occur and they worked with us on closing and opening a new account. Very professional and I cant really believe how seamless they were about everything. I highly recommend First Community Bank. It doesnt matter which branch I go to, I always get great service. Try them out. You wont be disappointed.
