I rarely give bad reviews because most reviews are for restaurant or a product and those issues are easily resolved without a bunch of negativity. However, issues with an incompetent attorney are more complicated and not so easily resolved. You essentially commit to them via the fee structure. In other words, you pay them up front and trust that their competence and professionalism will be sufficient to adequately "handle" your case. That is a terrible assumption when hiring Leslie Craft. Her incompetence is really quite stunning and it's difficult to articulate because it spanned the entire spectrum of the process: from failure to notify or disclose to me fees she was charging, to giving absolute terribly inaccurate figures on my monthly payment as part of the settlement (keep in mind, you're using these figures to make a decision to file); to being unprepared for court and even said so on one occasion and had to continue the hearing; and to being unable to get the most simple matters resolved with creditors (for example, after I parted ways her, I contacted the creditor myself and had 3 issues resolved in a matter of 5 days and that included a weekend. This literally took one phone call and two emails to wipe out an incorrect arrears claim, two requests for Mortgage Payment Changes and to start receiving statements. Mrs Craft attempted to get those issues resolved for 5 months with absolutely zero resolution. Again, one call and two emails from me and it was all resolved. The only thing she was diligent about in the entire process was getting her fees. She even charged more fees without any notification to me. Her response to me when questioned about the fees was an email with a copy of a fee structure she passed out in a package about her services when I first consulted with her. She is what I call voice actuated; she only acts when you specifically speak to her to act on an issue. There is no diligence or motivation to actually represent your interests. You have to bring an issue up multiple times and then you better be prepared to do all the work including making notes for her to read when she attends to your requests. I had to essentially plead with her for months to get a few very simple, but unresolved issues settled. For example, after bringing up for months numerous, simple, but unresolved issues with my case, she had me write a professional letter with referenced documents supporting each fact, that she could give the judge to explain the issues. She made her court notes from this, but still had to continue the hearing because she never got anything resolved with the creditor before court. Again the incompetence spans the entire spectrum of the process. Her official correspondence has misspelled words, including my name, and grammatical errors. That is just not what I expect when paying almost $6000 in attorney fees. I could go on and on, but I hope you get the gist of what I'm saying. I recommend anyone but her. You can take my word on it or go in and talk to her yourself. Only let her represent you, if you are clueless about the process and do not care about diligence. She only cares about the fees and will not work on your behalf or best interests except for the bare minimum requirement by law in order to receive the fees. Be afraid of this one...be very afraid..
