Holiday Inn Express & Suites Monroe, an IHG Hotel

I was looking for a good potential hotel to frequent over the next four years as my daughter will probably end up attending Wingate University and playing sports near by. My wife and I would be staying off/on over the next four years and I wanted to see if this hotel would be a good option. Unfortunately, they will not be getting my business. The room was great but a very rude staff member working in the lobby area berated a fellow co-worker for letting me finish my lunch in the lobby area. I finished my lunch, cleaned up perfectly after myself and explained that it wasn't the co-workers fault as I was there before her. Despite this she kept berating her. I jumped to her defense and the rude staff member and I argued about it in the lobby. The front desk then kicked me out of the hotel despite paying close to $200 to stay there that previous night and waiting form my daughter to come back from Wingate to pick me up. There are many other hotel options in the area that will be getting my business in the future.

We started our tour here from Charlotte (NC) through the southern states (NC, SC, GA) to Miami (FL). Hotel with good transport connections, sufficiently spacious rooms, decently clean... and one of the best hotel breakfast buffets I've seen in the States so far... and that's included in the fair price for the night... thumbs up!

The front desk clerk was so attentive and polite. She was awesome. Whoever worked on Feb. 10,,2024 deserves the employee of the month award
