Allegacy Federal Credit Union

Love banking with Allegacy. They give fair interest rates and are generally fairly quick with loan inquiries even though they are quite manual. This branch has always been helpful when I have gone here withdraw or deposit money.

Good luck trying to phone Allegacy if youre not yet a member and have any sort of relevant inquiry, or are a member (like me) but couldnt find your holy Allegacy number, because you are out of luck. Their phone bot system is ridiculously, not public-friendly, it will not let you through to a live person. Just a preview of what our future AI Overlords have in store for us.

I have an account here and thus far, Im pleased at the service I have received. One issue I have, if I deposit a certified bankers check from another bank, why is there a two day waiting period before I can draw that money out. I dont get it. If you deposit a certified check from a bank, why arent you able to withdraw that same amount out? For that bank to issue that check, the funds from the other person has to be in there. I needed to make a cash purchase on a vehicle, but had to wait 2 days before the check could be issued. I feel if my account reflects $xxxxx, I should be able to get that amount out. Also, getting charged $5 bucks for a certified check? I have a problem with that. Its my money, but yet charged for taking it out. I would be fine if they gave me cash rather than a check, but if its a large amount, an order has to be put in and you cant get the cash until days later. Dont get it.

Slowest bank ever. Must be short staffed. They never have the first lane open and the other two lanes take forever to get through. Every time Ive been here its been at least a 20-30 minute visit. Currently sitting in line behind one car that was here before me and Ive been sitting for 15 minutes already with nothing happening.
