During my exam, I was treated very poorly and without empathy. I understand this is an exam that is making sure all my claims are correct and also to help defend against people trying to fraud the government, with that being said you can still do this while maintaining a minimum level of professionalism and respect for the patient. Dont turn the exam into a us vs you environment and put the patient into a defensive state. Take time to explain whats going on and your role in the exam and be honest with your role.

I have no idea why they are affiliated with the VA at all. Even a VA clinic would be more helpful and friendly and that says something. I was scheduled for an appointment for 160 minutes. I spent 45ish minutes in the waiting room only to be called back for about 35 minutes to not see an actual doctor. I assumed I would be seeing an actual doctor to help me with my VA claim but it wasn't. It was a "practitioner" that made me seem to be a burden instead of a patient. The receptionist was very rude and short. I would very much like to see a VA doctor for my next visits so that I might actually be taken care of. I was medically discharged from the Marine Corps after 13 years of honorable service and I wish for me and all other veterans that we could be treated a little better. Disappointed.

Very rude, spent less than 10 min with my husband. Kept telling him it was a "teaching moment" for the two care providers. They chose not to perform the PFT exam because my husband's pulmonologist had ordered the same exam for next week. What was the purpose of this appt? The providers were unable to provide the answers. This is how veterans can expect to be treated by VA contractors????
