Adequate. Just adequate. Seems to be in decline. Has no four or five star restaurants. Focus seems to be mediocrity. Needs fresh ideas and upscale goals. Seems satisfied to be in the shadow of Asheville. Many vacant and poorly maintained store fronts. After visiting for many years, we have noted the obvious decline. Its a shame. Must be poor leadership. Even the hanging baskets and decorative bears were largely missing. Sad to see!!

Wonderful people doing amazing things for our community! If you own or lead a business in Henderson County, you need to be a member!

We opened up a small business in Hendersonville called Kelsey’s Restaurant. We were visited by people from this chamber of commerce that would mock us for “having paper napkins in a high end restaurant making the place look tacky.” When I explained to the guy that “we are not a high end restaurant. We are a restaurant that aims to give good food to lower and working class families. More like a toned down version of fine dining. It just looks very nice inside.” He yet again insulted me and said that “the place was going to waste giving its potential to families and working class people.” I thought that was a terrible way to look at less fortunate people. We started at the Mills River Restaurant one town over and opened up more restaurants in each major town next to it. The only one we closed was Kelsey’s restaurant due to the lack of love it received by this chamber of commerce. We gave them a reserved room and served them breakfast after breakfast was already over at a reduced price once per week and in return they were supposed to help us reach out to the community and also get more applications in. They never helped us reach out to our community. Almost all our customers were from the next town over because their chamber of commerce did help us and the only applicants they sent us were people in and out of rehab/jail which ended up spreading to our main restaurant. The backlash was so bad that we never got regular applicants ever again and had to shut down Kelsey’s to protect our reputation due to the rifraft that was brought in by this organization. We chose to hire people from New York at our other 2 new restaurants to fill up the entire staff base because we couldn’t get the stain made by the CoC off of us. We highly regret ever opening up a small business in this town and we regret even more doing business with the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce. I can still see that man laughing at us in our faces. He looked like he bathed and washed his face in hair growth serum. We will continue to grow in the other two directions but this one never again.
