I lived and worked at River Landing Apts. for almost 12 years. I must say that it was a great experience working there, and the best crew anyone could ask for to work with. The property was beautiful, and I really enjoyed living there. I recently retired, and Wendy Holland from HR was outstanding in helping me transition out. I have only good things to say about my experience at RECARROLL.

The management is rude. I've been waiting an a brand new dishwasher for months and there were others tenets complaining. The walls are very thin. Don't move here.

I moved to North Pointe at 68 in 2020 and will not be renewing my lease this spring 2024. The thing that makes me sad about leaving is that I actually like it here. The property is well kept and inviting and he community is really very quiet and drama free for an apartment complex. That's a plus, but the BEST part of living here is THE OFFICE STAFF!!! Yes, in all caps... I'm screaming it! A few have come and gone in my time here, but the quality was never compromised! When we first came here looking, we met Michael Lee and his personality was a driving factor in the decision to move here! Mike is still here, manages this property with integrity and respect for the tenants, and is someone the company might want to do whatever it takes to hold onto. The whole staff is wonderful, including the maintenance team, who are diligent about addressing issues as quickly as possible. The icing on the cake to everyone doing their jobs here is that they're ALL super friendly! Who can ask for anything more? So why am I leaving then? I'm leaving because the owner seems to be under the impression that us average folks (who aren't billionaires) receive annual raises of roughly $80 to $110 a month. That's about what the renewal increase is EVERY year. I mean wow, could he skip a year maybe? I don't know what sophisticated algorithms or systems they use to determine renewal rates, but the most logical one used should be: Did This Person Get A Salary Increase That Would Support Said Rental Increase? Does R.E. Carroll or Ari Corporation provide that type of annual increase to their employees? If they do, I need to apply immediately!!! My point to this company is: yes business is business, but it's always a good look to show true caring and compassion for your customers, tenants in this case. Those who have lived on your property and paid on time consistently have to move because of constant increases, so that you can bring in new tenants, at the higher rate, who may or may not pay. I guess that makes sense to someone. Final thought to the Ari Corporation. In September 2022, when a young man was killed on the sidewalk outside the building we live in, it would have been a compassionate act for the company to have sent out a letter, email or something to those of us who lived in that building, just to say... "we hope you're okay after the traumatic experience..." and I don't mean an email from the office manager, I mean something directly from the TOP. They certainly didn't waste any time letting us know they weren't liable for anything. And Regional/or District (not sure which at the time) Mgr. Laurie certainly reached out quickly when SHE misread the police report and had questions. Smh... January 2023 would have been a very appropriate time to forego a rent increase, as some of us incurred expenses from property damage during "the incident," but again, I guess business is business. Sometimes people leave bad reviews because they're angry about something. Anyone reading this, please be advised, I am not angry. I'm sad to have to move, but this is my HONEST review about the GREAT and not so great parts of my experience living at a Carroll property. If you paid attention, then you know that the good outweighed the bad, but take it however you want.

Please be cautious before doing business with this organization. We lived at Hayleigh Village in Greensboro for five years. I won't bother with details of how there was a mountain of garbage piled in front of the compactor once per week (I attached a few pics ..I have dozens) or how they cut the lock on my son's properly stored bike and threw it away or how they provide no pest control so even if you pay for your own there are 23 other units in the building whose bugs will find there way into your home. Nor will I go into detail about the revolving door of management there (I can't possibly remember how many different managers they've had since I lived there). What I will speak about is their unethical practice of billing for non-existent damages after you've left. I turned in my keys near the end of July and requested a final walk through; "We don't do that," I was told. Thirty days later we received a check for our security deposit, in full, no damages, and rightly so. A short time after that, however, I get an email claiming carpet damages along with a bill. I emailed and called Hayleigh Village - no response. Soon after I received a bill from a collection agency for nearly $300. The complex had a new manager who refused to take my calls so I emailed her. You waited 30 days...you refunded our deposit... and NOW there are damages? Damages to 12 year old builder's grade carpet beyond five years normal wear? Do you have photos? You refused a walk through. Will there be more damages in the future you expect from us? The manager simply replied that she "understood my concerns but unfortunately the account had already been sent to collections." She refused to engage me further. So now our only reasonable course of action is to pay this bill under duress to protect our credit and then file a small claims case against them to recover the balance. I strongly caution anyone from renting at their properties or, based on what I've seen on the office, working there. I at least had the clarity to take my own move-out pictures so I'm hopeful I can recover the money they basically trying to extort but I'll obviously never recover the time and effort I'm having to spend doing it. At this point it's really about not letting their dishonestly and sloppy business practices get the best of us.
