    I am new to the work/travel industry, and saving money is key; so finding a hotel that is equipped with a kitchen, basic appliances and a refrigerator is as essential as cleanliness, convenient location, safety, comfort and quiet. In a recent review, I rated this MainStay in Greensboro, NC less than stellar for inconveniences. I later rescinded them because a respectful manager made all the difference. After that, the remainder of my stay was quiet and restful until checkout day. Around 1230 I was visited by the housekeeper that asked if I was extending. I did not immediately pick up on the seemingly randomness of the visit. I explained that I was good until the next day. A moment or two later, I was visited by a desk clerk (some variation of Toya) who seemed as anxious to meet me as a club bouncer ready to throw out a rowdy patron. When she asked, I shared the same information. She responded abruptly, Not by my notes. My notes say you checkin out today. I asked for a few minutes and reassured her that I would call with updates. When I checked my itinerary, I found that the error was mine and that I'd prematurely canceled the wrong trip and failed to double check. I called the front desk to ask for a brief extension for two hours. she flat out told me, "No, ma'am. You have to pack your stuff and get out, now." I literally had to call Choice Rewards for assistance. They were able to buy me another 30-40 min. her rude demeanor and subtle lack of empathy were distasteful. The tipoff that this behavior was her baseline, was the fact that she didn't even recognize me when I came down to check out. She even went as far to tell the housekeeper that my room number was finally checking out in front of two other guests waiting in the lobby. I consider myself to be a good patron. I cleaned the room and stripped the bed before leaving (see images below), Im respectful to the staff and appreciate the hard work of the housekeepers because I know people can be slobs. I even tip them at times. Ultimately, can I afford better? Yes. Should I go to a better place? I could. In my recent post, I said that bugs were deal breakers for me. Theres always Raid and traps for pests. Bad personalities, rudeness, lack of respect and consideration are the dealbreakers. She behaved as if I asked for a free night or I owed her $. At least if I say in a better place, respect will be a requirement. If you are trying to work and save money, this is a great place to stay. I saw NO ROACHES or ants. The grounds were clean and other guests were not suspicious looking. There were no screams from children or fights and some of the other patrons were cooking amazing meals that made the halls a nice place to hang out. This clerk needs education in customer service and communication. Everyone one else was amazing and worth passing up Staybrige a few times. Noteworthy details: See above
