Absolute worst experience ever. 0 stars if possible. Took my phone for a screen repair. It was supposed to be same day service and only take 2 hours. I went at the 2 hours and supposedly it was done and they only had to do a post repair diagnostic test because it was a repair through apple support. Well 2 hours later they still could not get the diagnostic test to run. My phone was not able to be released to me and I had to leave it over night. Next day and I am unable to get in touch with anyone at the store. Apparently all phone numbers go to some imaginary location that you can talk to people but they cannot get in touch with the store. I do not know how this is possible.

I purchased BETA or Geek Squad total protection in 2019 after purchasing a gaming PC and Oculus Rift for my kid. The sales associate informed me I was purchasing a one year subscription for total support of all my devices. Geeks were available and helpful over the phone. A geek came to my home and helped my kid sync the Rift to his gaming room and PC. I probably used the service twice over the phone, maybe 20 minutes over two calls. and a 30 minute service appointment at my home.
I was told that after one year from my purchase date the subscription would expire, I would be required to renew my subscription if I wished to keep this protection. I have received daily text messages from BEST BUY every day since my purchase. I never received a message stating my subscription was being automatically renewed and my credit card was being charged. I went to the BEST BUY website and initiated a chat with customer service and was told this was a mistake and I could go to the store and be refunded the amount $192.00. I went to the GASTONIA, NC BEST BUY store and was told that the Geek Squad was separate from BEST Buy. Best Buy owns GEEK SQUAD. I was given a number to call and told by customer service and a store manager that this happens "all the time". Sales Associates are unclear when selling the service. They are instructed to explain the fine print. If you do not manually cancel the service, you will be billed annually until the end of time. I was not informed by email nor text message that I was being charged a service my family used only three times during the first few months of the subscription (December 2019-may 2020).
The Gastonia, NC Best Buy customer service staff and floor manager told me this happens all the time and all I needed to do was call the 1800 number for best buy and Geek Squad to get my money refunded for 2021,2022, and 2023. I was refunded $192.00 for the current year which hit my visa on 9-16-23. I was told best buy would not refund the remaining two years (2021, 2022). The service was not used. I proved that I did not receive a message asking if I wished to renew. The AUTO-RENEW POLICY was not disclosed at time of in-store purchase. I NEVER EXPECTED TO BE DEFRAUDED BY BEST BUY/GEEK SQUAD. both entities point fingers at the other. Best buy claims no affiliation with Geeks. Isn't Best Buy Geek Squad's parent company?
