rode 50 m each way via wheelchair scooter (no car) for help w electrical bill. Denied help bc I had received help w water bill 5 m ago. Patron arriving after me taken 1st received help 2 months ago not turned away. Director, Harriet was condescending, overly critical of serious events in my life. EVERYTHING WAS MY FAULT. Harriet had degraded & criticized me previously during a phone call she repeatedly brought this up in the interview for electrical help. Feel the decision that Harriet made re my electric bill was prejudicial based on a prior understanding & she failed to take into account the current situation.

This place, doesn't return calls or emails..and their process to get help makes it nearly impossible. You cant get help unless your about to be evicted, eviction letter in hand. So at the very last second they will decide IF they can help you. Which puts everyone at far more of a risk. So god forbid your asking for help before it gets to that point. They want you to come in, spend hours(on the 2 days they decide to open), dont communicate well, and all in hopes you "may" be approved, which is unlikely. The hoops you have to jump through are ridiculous. We have reached out numerous times asking how can we apply, we live in subsidized housing so we dont receive eviction notices during the pandemic. None the less...our rent backs up. We need help and this place has no desire to help what so ever. Whoever hires or runs this place does not make sure their employees are dedicated or compassionate what so ever. The ONE time I got through, it was an elderly lady who has NO business in a community assistance program what so ever with her hatefulness and attitude
