After completing an application for the DON role, I was given the opportunity to speak with the Administrator about the position. I was completely surprised by his lack of knowledge about clinical care and the job responsibilities of the nursing industry. I have been a nurse for over 20 years beginning in Acute Care, transitioning to informatics and technology, working in corporate as a technology clinical consultant using data to improve clinical practice standards and compliance with accrediting bodies, finally Ive taken to the path of long term care supervisor at a fast paced rehab facility. After taking the recommendation to apply for other positions like ADON or DON I decided to apply here. Why? I love challenges and the reviews and facility ratings indicated a need for an expert. The Administrators chat turned into an interview where I was told that he just received resumes from HR, the team was looking for someone with more experience and that I needed to start as a Rehab nurse at Rose Manor to get my foot in the door because I was transitioning into the nursing industry. Also that he needed to speak with his consultant about my resume because he was sure that I just didnt have what it takes to lead at Rose Manor. As a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership, I was amazed at the lack of common sense knowledge displayed by Larry. I have been a consultant of senior healthcare leaders for many years and it was clear that he is out of element transitioning from the Sales industry. He had a good attitude over the phone but lacked the questioning necessary to screen for competitive nursing leaders. He did not ask about my recent bedside experienceI also work as an agency nurse at several facilities and am quite comfortable on the cart. He was also confused about the definition and application of empowerment and employee retention as I described my efforts in supporting and listening to staff, mentoring and coaching staff to help improve their performance and improving customer service through frequent rounding to decrease call bell times. Larry does not understand the language of care, which is problematic and most likely is causing a financial burden because his focus is likely selling beds instead of promoting care. Overall, I thanked Larry for his time because he reminded me that money is not the priority of healthcare, it is the outcome and there are multiple key performance indicators that could increase the revenue of the organization but unfortunately Larry cannot hear the sound of success at Rose Manor because he allowed an industry nurse doctor veteran to slip right past him. Cheers to business focused nurse leaders who have the audacity to try to improve healthcare organizations. Please Google your potential staff next time before making assumptions about the empowered woman on the phone. I despise being wrong so I research to ensure that Im right before I speak.

From June 2022 to October2022 I had to place my husband here after his stroke left him unable to speak or use his right ( dominance)side. At the time all other places had no openings that his health insurance would pay for. The facility always smelled bad, the nursing staff and aides was always loud yelling through the hallway, the residents was always yelling out, and they have a policy once they put you in a wheelchair you was in it for at least 2 hours but of course was always longer. This don't work for everyone, it was to much for my husband to sit for that long he was only able to manage 30 minutes. And they denied me to watch or help with his rehabilitation times, even when they would call me to help get him to work with rehab cause he refused to get into the wheelchair. As soon as I was able to move him I did.

This place needs to be tore down, alot of people only gave good reviews because they work there,,Lisa Chavis the rudest lady in that facility and they have her at the door she doesn't ask the cover 19 questions to everyone, she didn't ask me no questions, she need to be fired. The receptionist lady Pam don't never want to get up and help nobody,,and has a very nasty attitude towards some visitors and residents.Ingrid the administration just care about those residents.Ive spoken to several residents and they don't even know her as the administration. You can't tell she's there for a pay check, never seen a unprofessional administration like her in my life.Ive heard alot of complaints about her,no wonder they are under staff.

I drove two and a half hours to visit this facility regarding a possible resident. This is the nastiest looking nursing facility I have EVER seen! There were lots of boxes at the front door and nasty rocking chairs. The boxes were not neatly stacked. The concrete was filthy as if it had never been cleaned. When I walked in, the attitudes were awful. Very unfriendly and unconcerned staff! I asked to speak with Admissions. Of course, he wasnt there. I asked for a brochure. Of course, they didnt have one. I asked if the appearance of the front was always like that. The receptionist rudely said the were remodeling. That is no excuse! Be careful placing a loved one in a place like that. The website was a bunch of lies on how you would be greeted when entering the building. I would not leave my cat in that filth.
