How do you call yourself a sports cafe but dont play the NCAA March Madness mens elite eight game? If someone requests bowling while the Super Bowl is going on do you put bowling on simply because someone asks? Of course not, youre a sports cafe you should have the intelligence to know which games should be played. *we were never offered anything and the managers solution was if someone complains Im putting the Duke game back on.*

This visit was during March Madness. I ordered wings with sweet chili sauce. These were the worst wings ever. I ordered crispy. They were dry. The sweet chili sauce tasted like it had gone off. It had a fishy flavor. I tried tasting without the sauce. The flavor of the wing itself was fine. But the dryness made them inedible. A sports bar can't deliver decent wings during March Madness?? I just don't know.

The food is decent bar-type food. However, what is shown on the TVs is first come first serve. So even if there is a big game on, if someone else requests a lower level game, that is what will be shown on the big screen. I wouldnt waste your time here if you are counting on watching a particular game. ***EDIT to reply to the owners response. **** Yes, a mens elite 8 is a bigger game than a womens sweet 16. There were several people there who were in Clemson and Alabama gear. You did not poll the whole bar to see what most people were there to watch. Over 7 million people watched the mens game. Less than half watched that womens game. Also, all readers, please note the condescending tone that the Sports Cafe used in responding to me. Its not very nice.

Dear Rachel Marie, I'm so sorry that you are such a miserable person that you struggle to understand why we'd put the Duke Women's game on, being right down the road from Duke and all, and being that there were about 60 people behind you watching that game. And somehow seemed to have missed that the game you requested was on half of the other TVs in the restaurant. And also conveniently left out that we offered to move you to an area where you'd have your game on with sound. But yeah, compare Duke Women's basketball to bowling and insult OUR intelligence. Have the day you deserve Karen.

So...Duke Women's Basketball = Lower Level Game. Got it. We put the game on the big screen that most people are there to watch and make sure other big games are shown on plenty of other TVs. What has the most viewership nationally doesn't determine what local sports restaurants and bars show - should all bars across the US only feature the Clemson - Alabama game? Most people at our Durham location were there to watch the women's game. We didn't need to poll them, their Duke attire was a pretty strong clue. Yes there were some Clemson and Alabama fans. Which is why around half of the TVs were on that game. Please do note the condescending tone - the one with which you took in order to dump on a local restaurant. By all means, don't "waste your time" at Tobacco Road again, we have plenty of amazing, supportive, positive and kind guests.
