Three Oaks Durham is a cute office in an old white house right off Guess road across from the old Northgate Mall. Parking is tight; there are about 10 total spots and a large dip in the driveway. You may hear cars going by throughout your session since its off a major street. The offices are somewhat handicap accessible; there is not an easy way to open to the door if you need assistance. The door is lightweight but may be locked depending on how many therapists are in office at the time. There are several therapists upstairs and downstairs; you may want to clarify where your therapist is located if stairs are a problem for you.
The waiting area has several cushioned chairs, a water cooler, Keurig machine, tea, and snacks. There are often toys, fidgets, magazines, and masks available. Bathrooms are all gender single stall rooms with a small mirror and feminine products provided.
Free consultations are available. Doors are clearly labeled with each therapists name. They accept major insurances; a billing person handles payments separately from your therapist. Therapists have different types available including CBT, art therapy, emotional parts, etc. This is a queer affirming space!
Overall my experience with Three Oaks has been wonderful! I saw Nanette Ford who is no longer there. But the website has thorough descriptions of therapists and their therapy styles. I was able to go from submitting an inquiry on the website to getting an appointment within 1-2 weeks. I would recommend Three Oaks to others!
