Do you want to try acupuncture but have a phobia of needles? Same!! The thought of a needle gave me such anxiety. But I decided I would at least have a conversation so I scheduled a visit. Battling chemo induced neuropathy in my hands and feet, I desperately needed relief. Medication took the edge off but did nothing to address the real issue. In mid-October 2023, I scheduled an appointment with Balanced Health Acupuncture. I met with Leslie Murphy who listened to me intently and with empathy. She asked to demonstrate the light pressure of a needle insertion for me. Then she suggested, if I was comfortable, we would start with just two to four insertion points. All went well! As I continue to take chemo, I also continue to see Leslie on a weekly basis. There is no doubt the acupuncture is addressing the root issue and providing me the relief I needed. It's an hour I look forward to as the experience is actually spa like. Once the needles have been inserted I'm left to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the setting.
