the shelter is dirty, the bathrooms are super gross and we have to sleep in a cubicle. The food is disgusting and it doesn't support the needs of people with autism, the workers are only nice to some people which is quite confusing.. they want you to be up at 4. The food schedule SUCKS

The people here do a wonderful job with a difficult mission. But the infrastructure and the building needs a lot of work. This place was dirty, and the people outside are in great need. I like to see more done with this place and the people, and specifically the children. I helped out a few people when I was there just to try and help a little.

There has to be better shelters for women and children than this place. You take people who are at their lowest and treat them like they are less than and free labor. The way that most are talked down to and no sense of empathy or decorum. Very little consistency except for the fact that women and children are waken up each morning at 5:15am only to be put out in the cold by 7am with nowhere to go until 3pm (when allowed to return to a heated space) with no resources to try and work on their situation. Not once was approved by a case worker and when requested, was told to keep checking back but it never happened. Staff doesn't bother to maintain basic cleanliness of the structure and are not approachable unless you are "a regular". It would appear that from to to bottom it's clearly a "let's try to get through the day with these people" attitude.
