Ive been using American store and Locke for over five years. Ive rented from about six other places in Charlotte in the past 30 years there is no place better, safer, cleaner, and the best customer service anywhere in Charlotte. They keep us updated on everything. Stella is amazing always accommodating you dont always get great customer service at storage units, they take it to the next level, thats why they have long-term tenants . I highly recommend it. They also rent U-Hauls. And I rent from them quite often. This place is just fantastic. J. Bury

i have been a customer for years at this place , as of recently service has went down hill ,so this new incident my card was compromised and they could not charge my card bc the bank locked it ,so instead of calling me and informing me of this they proceeded to lock my unit ... my cost is 250 dollars a month i have a car worth 100k in my unit . this puts in perspective how ridiculous them locking for unit is ... this stems from personal issues that management and staff have with me , they are very unprofessional. also i was locked in behind the fence for hours once and the fire department had to come rescue me and another gentleman i called corporate and as of date no one even apologized for the incident ... as i said service has went down hill .

My experience was horrible. The company extort me for monies for their U-Haul trucks. They had a rodent infestation that ruined 50% of the items in my storage unit and mold and water and dampness ruined the rest. They kept important paperwork and other things that I needed they let me Have some time settling out my debt But my stuff was not worth it. with these guys, the husband walk around with a gun and let you know that he has it available. They refuse to let me get the rest of my items the last day of my packing up and moving to a new storage unit . kept a lot of very important things that belong to me Paperwork, tax information, my car title, my child, life insurance paperwork, family photos just to keep them they had no reason to it wasnt Going to make a difference at that point either way the items It was already packed to go. Then they refused to tell me where the items were.doing .I thought they were helping me by keeping my items and letting me pay them when I could but Im beginning to think that maybe it just wouldve been better off. If I just will let them keep the whole storage unit between rodent feces and urine destroying half of mine and my Families items from a 2500 square-foot apartment, thats a lot of sifting Through excrement for them for them to take the items that were Intact. I think that was just very low down and they had the nerve to try to double charge me for the use of their U-Haul truck do yourself a favor steer clear from this place. I dont know who is writing the reviews but clearly theyre not true They have many other issues. These are just my personal issues, but yourself A favor and go over to u store or somewhere where theres a restroom where theyl Keep your stuff Free from water or rodent damage or stolen
