    I had a terrible experience with this company back in 2022. I personally would give 0 stars if I could. To be honest Jan was referred to me by my amazing realtor but Jan really disappointed me. I feel as a property manager you need to be fair for both parties and she never had my best interest. I felt she was extremely rude at times. Every time I asked her about something I felt should be done or corrected she would always give a response of well I do this is in my house. And what she does in her house is irrelevant to my investment property. Her communication was horrendous. I would send emails after emails and it would take 2-3 weeks just to get a response. I would call, leave voicemails, and send text messages just requesting for an update/status on a project being done in the home. And she would ignore them. And to be transparent at this time I was new to being a landlord this was my first property and I can admit that I was probably needy, but with my new property manager I now can disagree with that because they have brought me the best tenants I can imagine and I dont hear a peep from them. Everything is smooth, rent comes on time, anything that needs to be fixed gets addressed within 2 business days. They respond to me within 24 hours if I reach out. If you want the companys information Id be more than happy to share it with you. I do not recommend this company at all. But I do hope things have changed for them and they have become better.

    Not a very pleasant experience through Southern Living Property Management. And no Jan, I'm not writing this review because the homeowners chose another application and not ours. No, we are not upset about not getting the house we wanted but I'm writing this review due to the lack of communication with you and craig. I did call you once and you were able to pick up but other times we called the office, reaching you guys was difficult. (Yes we called the correct number). We even drove to the office on operating hours and not a single person was able to open the door (Yes we drove to the correct address). We both sent (2) $65 applications and you guys were having trouble with pet screenings. Like I mentioned, All the animals on the southern living pet screening were all active and you guys should've been able to see it on your end. No we did not send it to another property. We followed the links and did everything asked. Our service animal was still charged $25. In total for 3 animals $75 down the drain. We have worked with other Property Managements and we noticed the lack of communication and professionalism with Southern Living Property Management. You emailed us for a refund on one of the applications on September 1st, As I'm writing this. It's September 14th and we have not received any refunds. It's almost 2 weeks, At this point the $205 we spent in pet screenings and applications was all not worth the headaches and slow responses.

    BEWARE! If I could give zero stars I would. Super unprofessional. The lack of communication is so real. Dont worry about calling the office or their cells they never call back. Jan and Craig lack the professional skills in dealing with clients. We were offered a refund for one of our applications due to their lack of communication. Gave them the info for the refund and have not heard back from them. My boyfriend and I have never been treated with this much disrespect! Please beware of this management.

Jamilah..this was a very difficult situation. Even though you had a contractor do a lot work on your investment property it really was never completed. If there was ever a delay in getting back to you it was due to waiting to hear back from your contractor which usually took over a week. We always have our owner clients best interests at heart. But tenants are people too. Your tenants just wanted the property finished.. insulation installed under the bathroom, the crawl space enclosure finished to keep the wildlife out, the roof leaks repaired and the backyard fence gate installed per the lease agreement, which never happened. They were rightfully concerned when you had cameras installed around the exterior of the property months after they moved in and felt their privacy was being violated. As a result they asked to vacate a little early. This is not the end result we prefer. I hope that your property is finished for your current tenant and hopefully they have no complaints.

Kaitlin, I know you are disappointed that the owners chose another application over yours. Your application came in on 8/18/23. Between that date and 8/23/23 we show 19 emails of correspondence between us and you, your boyfriend and your Realtor. I spoke to all of you on the phone numerous times as did Craig. We even discussed with you that we were going ahead and presenting your application to the owners along with the 2 other applications even though you had delays with your pet screening report and it was not yet available to us. We wanted to be sure you had a chance for the property as well. So, I am really shocked by your comments. The only delays were with the animal information that you were trying to transfer from another property you applied for elsewhere rather than submit it directly through our application site and the fact that the owners happened to be on vacation and did not give us an answer back until after the weekend. We did notify you and your boyfriend that they were out of town and we would not have an answer until Monday. Because of that I offered to refund you one application fee.

Sir William, we certainly apologize if you have been trying to reach us unsuccessfully. I have checked our daily phone logs, voice mails and emails. We have no record of any calls from you. We have checked our tenant list and our list of incoming inquiries on our properties and do not see your name either place. You might possibly have the wrong phone number?
