Hawthorne's New York Pizza and Bar Mint Hill

We had an amazing lunch around 3:30 on Saturday. It is the slow time so sometimes service can be slow but not here. I had the Basil Mozzarella Pizza - amazing balsamic glaze and delicious Basilthere is no sauce just olive oil and garlic so I get a side of pizza sauce for dipping & a side salad that is huge- the boy had a Philly cheese and a salad. He could finish the sandwich it was so big! Amazing. Vegetarian options: Many options for vegetarian items.

Great garlic rolls. The rest is just okay. Toppings on the pizza are not worth the money because they barely put any on. They'll be no sauce on that pizza either and hardly any cheese. I guess they're trying to save money and fool people. It's not working.

The portions were large, and the food was hot and tasty. However, the real star of this restaurant was how good the staff (especially our waitress) were. She was on top of everything, frequently checked in to make sure were good, and just overall had a great demeaner and took pride in what she did.
