The first time I came for an appointment, I wore sunglasses because I was that scared. Ive been to therapists before and have had mostly bad experiences. This time, I thought Id find someone who understood first responders. And amazingly, I have. Then this intern asked to sit in on my sessions and VERY hesitantly I agreed. I figured that if I could learn to trust 2 males in a safe place after all the trauma Ive been through, then maybe I could learn to trust men again as a whole. Brian is now my therapist. Hes helped to create a safe place for me to open up not only about life currently, but life in the past. He points out the positives and challenges my negative thoughts while pushing me to continue to grow and be who Im meant to be. Im very thankful.
