I'm giving Amedisys five stars for the nurses and no stars for the office staff. I had to have nursing care after surgery in June 2022. I had a wound vacuum hooked up to me. The dressings needed to be changed every three days. Initially the wound care center did the changes because there weren't any openings available for home health care.The Charlotte office was less than efficient in scheduling nurses to come out. They often "forgot " to have someone come or they had to keep rescheduling them.My initial nurse, Portia, seemed like a nice enough person. Her main problem was time management and giving me unrealistic expectations of when she would actually show up.Her other issue was that no matter how she setup the dressing around the wound, it leaked. She never really got better at placing the dressing or figuring out how to stop the leaks. She decided to try her luck with another company.My next nurses were Megan & Brittany. Megan, I saw a couple times, but Brittany has been my nurse for most of this journey. She's been great to work with. I've come to understand that when a nurse gives you a range of time that they'll be at your home, there are a number of factors that play into that. Luckily I'm not working and have very few places that I needed to be.Sometimes we've had to reschedule for another day because the time spent on previous appointments ran over. Other times the office didn't add me to the nurse's schedule. Brittany has been a stickler for getting procedures done right the first time. We've even had FaceTime conversations with the rep for the wound vac so that she could watch Brittany work and offer aid.Would I use Amedisys again? Only if Brittany or Megan were my nurses.
