Sylvan Learning of Charlotte & Ballantyne

Our son goes to a language immersion school where virtually zero English is spoken. We do not speak the language that he is learning in the home. Even though there isn't any English in the school, the exams are in English. Towards the end of first grade, his skills in reading were very poor. He scored in the 30th percentile on reading skills testing. We brought him to Sylvan shortly after this. He has now been in Sylvan for almost a year. His most recent score on reading testing is is in the 88th percentile. His confidence in his schoolwork has increased significantly. It has been a lot of work for him (and us getting him there) but the results have been worth it.

We have been engaging Sylvan over these last 8 years for tutoring support and have been thrilled with the results. Their system identifies your child problem areas and reteaches the concepts that initially werent understood. We have seen our childs confidence level increase with core subjects over these years that has allowed her to manage her class load on her own with little engagement from us. As we have advanced in grade levels, her comfort level in requesting tutoring support for homework continued. Sylvan has been a partner in our childs education and this investment has paid out multiple times. The support staff and tutors were extremely flexible with our schedules and any last minute change requests. Thank you for all the tutors time and efforts with our childs education. We truly appreciate it.
