I would like to take time to thank UNC for the excellent service and caring nature the staff shows to their patients. My daughter has major surgery to repair a aneurysm which took 14 hours to complete. Mandy was in ICU for 3 weeks and step down for a week. Me and my family had no issues with the care she received as if she was their only patient. I have never experienced a hospital like this one. Not only did they care for her, but was there for us if we needed anything. I could go to the hotel and rest knowing she was in very good hands. Thank you all for everything you all done for her and her family.

I am a pediatric pulmonologist with over thirty years of experience, who has special expertise in suppurative lung diseases, like cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, and non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis. My research has largely focused of genetic and molecular factors that contribute to chronic airway infection, inflammation, and epithelial injury, with nearly thirty-years of continuous funding from the National Institutes of Health. I have also authored or co-written over 200 original articles, scholarly reviews, and book chapters on these and other pulmonary conditions that affect children and adolescents.
