Below is the text of a Thank You letter we sent to Dr. Burgerts office recently. Dear Friends at Chapel Hill Family Medicine, I want to Thank You for your very kind card after my recent surgery. Every time I started writing this note it turned into a 10-page essay about your organization's excellence, authentic caring, moral integrity, and professional competence. At its rarified best old-school human Family Medicine is the equivalent of old-school human Family Love. I realize we live in the same world and that you may already know how "one in a million" rare you are. In case you do not realize it, having led numerous organizations, I know how challenging, unique, and magical that is. And I know how fortunate we are to be in your caring hands. That level of kindness can change the world. It changes our own small world for the better every day. Hopefully, you will understand what is in our hearts that our words cannot possibly convey. Dr. Burgert strives to be available almost 24/7. She listens, provides options, investigates hard questions, accepts my personal eccentricities. Best of all, she cares. It is very important to me to have a relationship with my family doctor, and I am completely satisfied in this regard.
