I am extremely disappointed by my toddler granddaughter's experience at this school. Three year olds can't be expected to understand the expectations and practices from day one. They are there to be taught, to have behaviors shaped, and to have this accomplished in a way that doesn't shame, embarrass, or humiliate them. Poor communication with parents, lack of effort to design a plan for a child who needs guidance, and abrupt dismissal are signs that the staff needs intervention and training. I am a retired educator from the Chapel Hill Carrboro Schools who knows a thing or two about quality professional programs and care for young children. So disappointed!

My husband and I are both medical professionals who both see pediatric patients as part of our patient population . We were initially excited to send our daughter here, as I have heard good things about Montessori schools. My daughter however was very unhappy at the school. She cried every day before going to the preschool. The environment unfortunately brought out the worst in her , as she is normally a very fun and loving child. The class size is too large and offers little structure . There was also an astonishing lack of communication from her teachers . This school is dysfunctional and unorganized.

There was no interview process. They accepted my child despite my telling them of delays and being worried about potty training.Blame your reasoning on covid precautions, but you didn't do your due diligence to check out my child as a prospective student, and then asked her to leave after 8 days claiming that no other child has issues in your school, when statistically that is impossible, and I know other children in the program that do suffer.MDS shamed us as parents and left us without any resources or direction on how to help our child, with an ongoing autism diagnosis process. They never tried with these kids. They only want the ones that will comply and easily fit their mold.American Montessori Society should be ashamed of this school, as they do not represent Maria Montessori's dream.

Let's be honest- this place is all about money under the guise of a day care turned Montessori school- yes, MDS is the correct school for the review. PUSHY w/ contract so you can be quickly duped and locked in. Teachers are burnt out- owner is money grubbing and misleading. It's an overpriced daycare in which you will regret attending! Edit to add: transients roam the area. One time one random guy was at the door and are around - not a safe feeling for a school with young kids.
