Working with Ethan was a great experience. From the beginning of the process, Ethan provided a personal touch that other prospective contractors didnt. From the get-go, Ethan prioritized clear and consistent communication and helped set realistic expectations for what to expect from our project. He listened very closely to my specifications on timing and budget, and was super easy to get a hold of whenever I had questions. Ethan was also able to fit my project in a lot sooner than expected. Once we agreed on the project scope and signed the agreements, Ethan got to work with handling all the permitting and planning. Throughout all of this, he made sure to keep me in the loop and communicate expectations. Once the project started, Ethan was very considerate of our space and keeping it as clean as possible in spite of the dirtiness of the project. I was also impressed with how quickly the work came together. For much of the project, my wife and I were able to continue working from home in another room while Ethan and his crew worked. Ethan also heard and acknowledged one of my primary concerns, that I wanted to spend as little time outside of the house as possible during the project. The job necessitated the house being unoccupied for some period of time (due to drywall and paint work), but Ethan committed to minimizing that as much as possible. In total, we were unable to be in the house for about 2 weeks, but that time went by quickly because Ethan kept us up to speed on the project progression. Were very happy with the final product. Ethan has been super considerate throughout the process as well. For example, we learned that at one point during the project while we were out of the house, a subcontractor forgot to plug our fridge back in after moving it, and some of the food in our fridge and freezer spoiled. Ethan acknowledged this and bought us a grocery store gift card even though it wasnt his fault and he could have easily said not my problem. Lastly, Ethan was simply a nice person to work with. Over the course of the few months we worked together, Ethan got to know my family and became comfortable with my pets. Hes generally friendly and wants to do the right thing a rarity in an industry where its easy to be taken advantage of contractors who overpromise and underdeliver. Im excited to see Ironwood Custom Remodels continue to grow, and would recommend them for any project.
