The Carolina Beach boardwalk fish tile program is operated by the rec center here, and it is managed in a way that will crush the beauty of the boardwalk for all those (like me) who loved it walking along and reading the tiles. After ordering, they do not follow up with any information (including when or where your tile is installed). Instead, they tell you to call on or after the install date for more information. I did as much, and it wasnt installed. Youd think they would send an update when their promised timeline changes? Absolutely not. They say call back next week, so I call again. Still not installed. After several iterations of this more than 3 months after ordering and 6 weeks after the promised install date, it is still not installed, and I still have no information. Every time I call, they say Ill leave your number for the director of this program, shell call you back! (Spoiler alert, she does not.) I have also emailed without getting any reply. It seems like highway robbery at this point. The Kure beach boardwalk right down the road has the same tiles. They are more affordable, and the community there seems more grateful for these contributions and engaged in the efforts behind them.
