The Windstar Hotel at Carolina Beach

This was a mom/son getaway that hasnt happened in 9 years. EVERYBODY was AMAZING! From (forgive me I dont want to get names wrong) getting blankets thrown in the dryer because I am very cold natured, or a nice detailed map of different things to do since my since son is almost 20, to my cleaning friend (who I hope our room was one of the easier ones) to the late night front desk guy who was kind to offer him a snack while he was watching the basketball game. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!!!

Me and my boyfriend came as an impulsive trip and came across Windstar specifically for their great deals. Chrissy and Patricia were great and very accommodating and fun and sweet and our room was just as cute and cozy as it could be. The hotel is definitely modernly refurbished but its a great and underrated spot. Its a bit of a walk to the boardwalk and the beach so if youre looking for an oceanfront or a 30 second walk to the beach this isnt for you. The only things I didnt like were that the night shift dudes were typically on their phone playing video games and dont really acknowledge you and you can tell theyre just there for the money. There was a bit of lack of communication and we were never asked for a phone number, which ended up having us drive 2 hours back home in the middle of the night after a long day because the people working did not have our phone number on file, they had the previous stayers number, and didnt ask for a new one, so when we came back to rebook they had already given it to someone else. Overall it was a great stay and I would go back. Converted Microtel done right. The rooms are obviously still small and the walls are thin enough to hear your neighbor snoring, but other than that this place is great. Still an easy walk to pretty much anywhere in CB and during weekdays it is dead quiet being off the main road a bit. Love all the local history and art that they incorporated into the remodel, and all the staff I interacted with was lovely.
