J Peters is a highly competent social worker, therapist and writer, who strives for the highest level of professionalism in his work. He also is open with his own mental distress experiences, and thus his writing has a transparency and openness that really stands out. He is quite enterprising in his work, willing to talk about social work and the peer experience to whoever will hear his message. His work is important to read, given that more clinicians are now openly identifying by having a condition themselves.

J Peters is a wonderful author/person with highly relate-able works. Being a person with mental illness, his books made me feel not alone and like someone understood me. I highly recommend all his book series.
