We love this school and their teachers. Our youngest has been going since he turned 3 and it has been so amazing for his development. Would highly recommend this school to kids and adults.

My son Daniel has been coming to the school since early elementary school. He is now in High School and is a 3rd Dan Black Belt. Our family has seen him grow in confidence and maturity. Helped with fitness. Wonderful TKD family.

My name is Raymond Pea. Today, I am 164 days shy of my 75th birthday. I started Taekwondo in a Grand Master Byung Min Kim Taekwondo Dojang at age 52 and a half (The place of reverence where practioner's go to study the Way of Taekwondo). The school was situated next to a Borders Book Store in a mall in White Plains. My original Master was then Master Shin and Master Seo. This was in late 2002. When I joined as a No-Belt I was a dangerous unbridled bull in a fine china shop. I was overly enthusiastic zealot and tried real hard to instantly convert all who entered into the wonderful art of Taekwondo. Over the years, with guidance from Grand Master Shin, Master Seo and Master Sebastian Arnold and various other Masters and Senior Belts I would eventually grow and become a Master (5th Dan). Mid way through myTaekwondo journey, Grand Master Kim would retire and Grand Master Won Hee Lee and Grand Master Shin would take over the school. They would rename the school: Hwa Rang Taekwondo. I love that we have a beautiful, sparkly clean, well lit and well kept Dojang. We also have two (2) well kept bathrooms and changing rooms to meet the demands of all our visitors. When the students (beginning from @age 3) thru Senior Students of over 80 years and counting, come into the Dojang they are greeted by Grand Master Lee and Master Park. Initially all students and their accompanying parents and family and friends are greeted individually and collectively by Grandmaster Shin and Master Park. The Students are assisted in getting ready to enter the Dojang by Instructors and Masters in the entranceway where wooden cubicles exists where students and visitors can put their shoes and socks away. Benches are provided and store size windows looking into the Dojang proper allow a careful monitoring of their child's class by the parents. To eliminate chaos there is a universal schedule that is clear and exact in the times that the students enter the Dojang. All students are initially given a uniform after an introductory evaluation session. This "Trial Lesson" usually lasts about 20 minutes long the session is a time for the student and their parents to see if Taekwondo is the right fit for their loved ones. Color Belts are giving to students via a series of prearranged tests and the Color Belts are given in a precise order starting at White Belt all the way up to Black Belts. There is lots to do and lots to learn. As the Students move up in Color Belt status they learn different stances and strikes and kicks and blocks and various Board Breaking Techniques commensurate with their physical and mental status capacities. Certificates marking the achievements are also delivered with their new found status. For those who aspire to become Instructors there are Special Instructor's Classes and Bo Staff and Self-defense classes for all ages. In Taekwondo there are over 3500 stances and kicks and strikes and blocking techniques!!! It takes a lifetime to learn Taekwondo. Many of our students practice till they graduate from High School and then they go on to college (where they practice and enhance their skill sets) and then return to make the Dojang a wonderful family style place to be and interact. There are lots of additional activities and ways for the student to develop themselves: Activities such as Ninja Nights and Tournaments and group Trips to South Korea and Family Picnics and Costume Theme parties like for Halloween. There is also a Special Summer Camp for the younger ones and a vibrant After School Program. There is lots to be done and so little time to do it all. Grand Master Won Hee Lee and Grand Master Eun Shin along with Master James Park and the myriad of Masters and Instructors are all there to help your child and the student to firmly grasp all that is being offered. I do hope you'll join us in this life changing adventure. Sincerely, Master Ray Pea 5th Dan
