Luis has helped me put things into perspective, and challenge me to face the facts of my situation. He's been patient and informative, as well as personable. I've really enjoyed my time, and found myself looking forward to sessions to revisit my situation with his counseling. I'm surprised, I've been seeing him for a little over a year! I am a survivor of childhood abuse and domestic violence. I have lived most of my life with PTSD. I was stuck in survival mode. Handling every life situation and quickly moving on. At 38 years old I had reached my tipping point. I knew I needed help moving forward. I did look into therapy before. I held very strong reservations about the state of psychology in Oneida County. Knowing treatment for mental health is becoming more modernized I began my search for a therapist. This is when I found Luis. My search ended there, and my journey of healing began. Luis has been nothing but professional and patient with me. I feel Luis has been an excellent guide during this journey, helping me to process what has happened in the past. This allowed for true forgiveness to be given. Luis assisted greatly in reframing my state of mind. I worry less, which allows for greater ease of day-to-day living. There is also a lot of support within his practice. I attend weekly support groups. Which is more of a book club. A safe space to communicate, socialize, and grow. I've been to many different counseling and therapy sessions before coming here. Since receiving therapy from Luis at Rising Potential I've seen many changes within myself and I have been able to process many things that held me back. Luis has great insight and tools that continue to help me in my daily life. I wouldn't be the way I am today without therapy and the expertise that Luis provides. I would for sure recommend Luis at Rising Potential Counseling to anyone that is considering going to therapy. He truly listens, asks questions that challenge your thinking, and he takes what he does very seriously.
