Nearby activities: Hiking, skiing, dining, shopping Safety: Very safe Walkability: Really need a car, off a busy road no sidewalks Food & drinks: Only burgers on Monday nights Noteworthy details: Near trails and river, game room

        Great location and friendly staff, but the mattress in our room was way, way past its lifespan. This is a rustic place, which is fine and exactly what we were looking for on this trip. However, updating the mattresses when needed is a minimum expectation. Simply adding another layer of foam just doesnt do it.

        We have stayed at the ADK Trail Inn twice and loved it! Very warm place, perfect as a base camp for hiking in the Adirondacks. We stayed in the Trail Blazer room in December 2023 and in the Highland Meadows in February 2024. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were well renovated. The only fault we could find is that the Highland Meadows room lacked hooks to hang our clothes after our winter hikes, but that's just a minor detail! Otherwise, the rooms more than met our needs. The staff is very kind, welcoming and easy to contact. Plus, the food at their Monday Tuesday Grill restaurant is always delicious! We feel at home! We particularly liked the breakfast and takeaway coffee/tea available each morning, included in the room rate. We will definitely return!!

        Hiking the high peaks here in the Adirondacks. Awesome place to take a rest, traveling from NH. Clean, warm, and close enough to amenities but far enough away to feel like you're staying in the woodlands.

      We're glad you enjoyed our location and staff! We work hard to give every guest a 5 star experience, but when it comes to mattresses ... sigh! Everyone has such a unique preference. Since we don't have a reservation listed under your name, we aren't sure what room you're referring to, but none of our mattresses are old. We've added a foam topper to a few of the newer ones because they were firmer than we expected and we wanted to make them more "middle-of-the-road" in order to please as many guests as possible. We invite you to contact us directly via email or phone so that we can make a note for your specific room. Thank you for sharing your experience. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again!
