Agency is in place to provide services to low income communities and minorities, yet, staff are predominantly white. The only positions they give people of color, are teachers aid positions (I worked as the Program Specialist for YouthBuild Program....I was literally the ONLY person of color!). A lot of prejudice from management towards people of color and most of the people they end up terminating are people of color. They do not care and none of the staff can even relate to what the people in the community they serve are enduring. Very disorganized and management does not take accountability.

CEO can be a great resource to parents/ families in need and also being supportive to the community. They have great ideas but fail to give credit to the people who actually do the work. The treatment ive seen staff get to the treatment some of the children have gotten was one of my reasons for leaving. They are unsupportive and only care about the next grant or funding they get but not giving structure or support. There’s times were children go without resources because someone is on a vacation every week however a teacher cannot take a sick day off because they Legitimately sick and they get written up as a “no call no show” however you called. Meanwhile they will talk you out of the insurance they claim to offer that has great benefits but tell you to go on the market place instead meaning GOOD LUCK. I’ve had many situations that were unprofessional and dangerous to be put in. They use to be a really great company but have gone down hill. It’s amazing if you can get a person to stay their over a year. Missed lunches to not having a bathroom break to being forced to clock out at 2pm if the children got picked up on time meanwhile you were there since 7:30 AM to being told to take a lunch at 2 to come back at 2:30 and punch out for 3pm. This wasn’t a one time thing either. To making you leave so they didn’t have to pay you over time or to leave children with someone else so they don’t have to pay for your time. They took cameras out to cover themselves but failed to protect their students and staff. To being understaffed illegally against regulation rules. And to not be properly educated for certain classrooms having teachers work positions they were not qualified for to even having teachers be head teachers but paying them as co-teacher. To teachers fighting with parents on Facebook post i wish These hire ups would have actually spent actual time in these classrooms and really give credit. The giving of the jackets to the children is the ultimate joke that’s the only time they ever come down is to take pictures of these children in coats that were donated for them to look good mean while the children’s lunches are raw because they got rid of all the kitchens besides one so having to ration things out knowing it’s not enough. I really Hope CEO finds its way back to how it was before it was a place to be proud of and made you feel what you were doing was great and valued. if I was a parent honestly I would not send my child here but lucky for ceo they have parents who seriously need the help and our desperate for it that not much is questioned. However there are some decent teachers there who are very passionate. That was another benefit was the relationships you got to make with the children and families I will always be thankful for that they were truly awesome families. Sadly though have lost many great staff due to their inconsideration and forgetting what made CEO really CEO the teachers who made these children know they could be anything they wanted to be and to have more then what’s infront of them. They never bothered to do an exit interview with me which is suppose to always be done but pretty sure I know why they didn’t want to hear how their staff felt i honestly Think we could have benefited from but on to the next chapter!
