they are horrible with refilling medications, will leave you stranded without medications and not care the slightest

Dr Crowell and dr james are literally a god send! My twins were having extreme behavioral issues. I knew my youngest son had autism and severe adhd but the school districts testing showed he didnt. I did not accept that as I knew he did. I finally decided to take him here and these 2 amazing women evaluated with him and found he did! The amount of relief I felt was indescribable because I felt so unheard for so long and to finally be heard was incredible. He was placed on medication and is finally able to thrive in school! These 2 women want your child to get the help they need. I feel bad for the others who have not had a good experience here. I cant thank them enough for helping my family!

I have been a patient at Stony Brook Psychiatric Associates, specifically the Treatment Resistant Depression program, for three years and the care Ive received has been excellent and life-saving. I have found Dr. Manu and his team to be consistent and persistent in their efforts to work collaboratively with me to address a long-running and life-ruining illness. Throughout my treatment my concerns and preferences have been taken seriously and setbacks I experienced were looked at as useful data for continuing treatment rather than non-compliance or failure on my part. Stony Brook Psychiatric Associates is the only clinic Ive been treated by where the practitioners have been aware of and willing to utilize emerging research into new treatments and this has improved my quality of life dramatically. Every psychiatric patient deserves this quality of care.

I go to my insurance website to look for available psychiatrists. Under Stony Brook, it says "accepting all patients". Great! I call, they say "we are not accepting new patients at this time". When I ask about what is posted on the website, they say "that's for the wait list". If you have a wait list, a wait list that you are NOT ADDING MORE PEOPLE ONTO, then why would you claim you are accepting all patients? Not to mention when you go to their own website, it shows at least 10+ psychiatrists "accepting all patients"! When I suggested to the receptionist that they should probably change that on their website, she hung up on me. This hospital is a joke and is not interested in helping anyone. Don't waste your time. And they wonder why people on Long Island are acting crazy.
