Ira Chernoff Md

Over the past few years I have seen Dr. Ira for different things. He has always been thorough, honest and spot on with his diagnosis. Even my daughter has seen him on several occasions and he was able to diagnosis things in her that multiple doctors were not able to pin point. One thing being - Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. More recently with myself - I had surgery with him on October 10, 2022. I was experiencing neck pain for some time but then noticed numbness and weakness in my arm and hand and got concerned. So I saw Dr. Ira and he knew instantly what was wrong. Did all the proper testing and informed me that surgery was the only answer. I was extremely nervous about this procedure but had complete faith in Dr. Ira and his reassurance made me feel better. The surgery went well and just a few hours after the procedure I had regained most of my strength back.

Very dishonest. Billed workmans comp and my insurance company. Ive been a nurse for 40 years and heard of very bad outcomes post surgery. Stay away. There are great surgeons. Ira Chernoff not one.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Dr. Ira Chernoff performed a corrective Laminectomy/Discectomy on August 30th. My sciatic pain was so bad that I wasn't able to walk. I am now almost pain free. I finally have my life back. I had surgery done at a different provider back in May. When I went to Dr. Chernoff he didn't focus on the mistakes of the other provider. He merely reviewed all of my MRI's and past medical chart. He then sent me for an MRI w/ contrast (THE SAME DAY- got me Prior Auth within minutes). He saw be back immediately after MRI. He had his brother Dr. Marc Chernoff and his PA Cecilia in the room and they explained to me and my husband in detail what the issues were and exactly what he needed to do to fix it. They made us feel important and took all our concerns seriously. He was able to get me in for the surgery very quickly. Him and his staff have been with me every step of the way. Checking in on me DAILY when needed. I finally have my life back and I owe it all to Dr. Chernoff and his amazing staff!

A friend referred me to Dr. Ira Chernoff. My initial exam was on April 16, 2021. Dr. Chernoff recommended a laminectomy and decompression at both levels. He took the time to completely explain the process to me along with risks and complications that can happen. The surgery was performed on May 4, 2021 at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson. Today is May 17, 2021 and I have no numbness or pain in my legs and feet. Thanks to Dr. Ira Chernoff, my life is better today than it was on May 3, 2021. I can walk and stand pain free. Dr. Chernoff is a dedicated, compassionate doctor who truly cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends who need back surgery. In addition to Dr. Ira Chernoff, I would also like to thank Cecilia Capozzoli PA-C and Anne McGrath ANP. Not only did I see Cecilia in the office prior to surgery, but also in the operating room as well. It was good to see another familiar face in the OR. Both are dedicated professionals who are caring and friendly. Finally, the office staff are wonderful. They are all friendly and helpful on the phone and in person.
