The Stony Brookside Bed & Bike Inn

Amazing hosts, yummy breakfast, great location. Would go back and stay again.

We could not have asked for a better experience during our stay at the Stony Brookside. We were in town for the weekend for our daughter's wedding at The Three Village Inn, which is right down the block. Elyse and Marty provided everything we needed for our daughter the bride, her four bridesmaids, and us, the parents of the bride, during our 3-4 day stay. The bedrooms were beautifully furnished, spacious, clean, had great A/C, and wonderful views of the lake at Avalon Park and Preserve, the Stony Brook Grist Mill, and the surrounding area. The beds were super comfortable. Bathrooms were private and we were stocked with thoughtful touches, such as super soft and absorbent towels, hair dryers, sunscreen, shampoos, lotions, etc. The living room and dining room were spacious, and decorated with beautiful original paintings, photographs, full bookshelves, and interesting objects of art. A grand fireplace was the focal point. Breakfasts and snacks were delicious and plentiful- egg casseroles, delicious fresh baked muffins, fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts... Elyse accommodated our requests and individual tastes perfectly. The Stony Brookside became our wedding home base for the bridal party preparations and photographs, which were taken on their beautiful grounds and across the street at the lake and preserve. The personalized attention we received was second to none, and Elyse and Marty ensured we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. I highly recommend The Stony Brookside if you love comfortable, picturesque accommodations with excellent service, beautiful views, within a short walking distance to multiple attractions, shops and restaurants.

Elyse and Marty were incredible hosts! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a wedding for two nights. If youre looking for a warm welcome, beautiful scenery and a cozy room, please stay here. We were so happy we chose to stay here over a hotel. Theres a park nearby with some wonderful wildlife, Elyse was so kind to share some duck feed with me to feed the geese. Breakfast was delightful every morning and we would love to come back here for another trip. If you are looking for a place to stay in Stony Brook, this is it!

The house is lovely, Marty & Elyse are terrific, and there's great biking in the area, I'd highly recommend their B&B to anyone looking to do some biking or just to get away for a few days. The area is filled with wonderful/interesting history accessible by bike or car. The kayak inlet and small stone beach is out the door make a left and 5 minutes or less you are at the sound. Great food and cute shopping is available right across the street. It covers about everything a person on vaca would want.
