I filed my taxes with Russell for the first time. I wanted to file with Anthony Mauricello as he was referred to me but he was not available at the time. The entire process with Russell was brief and I was surprised when I received my estimate tax for that year, but nonetheless trusted him. Russell and his team sent over a document with the amount that I owed to the IRS in January. I received a letter later from the IRS in August stating that amount was incorrect and I owed more and was charged a penalty. I paid that in full. I then received ANOTHER letter from the IRS that my taxes for the city were filed incorrectly and I was charged another penalty. When I brought up these concerns with the team, they were swift and called me back immediately to help me out. However, I was not given a clear answer as to why my taxes were filed incorrectly and why I owed more money. Hope (an accountant?), said she was going to review Russell's work and never called me back. Now that the year is over, and I have been charged multiple penalties for incorrect taxes, I would definitely avoid working with Russell.
