Staten Island University Hospital - North Campus

Year 2023 ...I am not surprised to see that most of these negative reviews say that this hospital has terrible life threatening communication and care. My mother almost died there because of their very slow discharge procedure and lack of care and inncorect care. Do not go to this hospital. These reviews are real. Choose another hospital or you'll be sorry & angry and possibly lose a loved one or yourself. I don't usually write reviews but I feel obligated to warn others.

I want to Thank everyone at the hospital .Everyone was alert and aware of the treatment my husband and I can't thank you enough for the wonderful care he received at the hospital .Walter McGowan and a very special nurse Gabrielle Napolitano and her quick action and the rest of the team for saving my husband. Wish there was a negative star. Fdny paramedics Brought my mother in for passing out not waking up for 1/2 hour on a Friday night . They admitted her that night. Left in emergency room for 4 days no water no IV as a diabetic they threw sandwiches , apple juice and cranberry juice to her. 2 hours of her asking for breakfast finally 10 am they give her ice cold eggs and bacon . Next day Breakfast at 8 Took her for test comes back at 3 ,7 pm still no food or drink I have family member bring her food, midnight no food or drink even though her blood tests show she's dehydrated, no IV,test early morning mom calling me all morning nothing. 12 pm calling ER desk. I'm signing her out. 2:30 they want to take her for test maybe she'll be back in room in 4 hrs. 79 years old dehydrated diabetic. Never given meds whole time there.Investigation started on her treatment just got letter today they investigated and that her treatment was fine . Plus a shower on Saturday no means to wash until I signed her out ama on Tuesday. Took days to get her rehydrated and back on track with meds. Room never cleaned ,filth all over , garbage overflowing. Have pictures to prove that.

Doctor literally admitted to me that they won't actually try to find out what's wrong with you. They will just make sure you're not bleeding all over the place and etc and send you away. The amount of people they send out and say nothing is wrong is insane. Stay far away.
