After my last psychiatrist at another practice would make me wait an hour or more to get into appointments, I switched to Jill Hindes at All Island Behavioral Health a few years ago. Jill has been superb and professional every single visit, answering any and all questions I have had. Even with covid and doing video calls, she hasn't missed a beat. It is actually great because it saves me a trip! Highly recommended, especially since she seems to genuinely care. As for the support staff, I've never had any issues in person or on the phone. I've left messages and they've gotten back to me, even as it pertains to getting medication ordered so I didn't go without. They have always been friendly and professional. With Stony Brook taking over, I hope it all remains the same.

I had been a patient of Dr. Buncke's for over 5 years. This office has always been by-the-book, no exceptions for anyone regarding their practices in prescription management, billing, etc., however the last six months as the practice switched over to Stony Brook has been absurd, on top of the fact that I doubt Dr. Buncke's ability. About their business practices, first and foremost I requested they fill out the NYS disability form as well as submit my medical records twice in my time with this office. The first time was back in 2016, the second time was a few months ago, September 2020. The first time it was handled without question. The second time, they charged me $150. I told them I couldn't afford that, could they bill me after I submit everything and, you know, get paid for disability before I paid them? Nope. I was told they put my paperwork aside in case I "changed my mind," as if I would be pulling $150 out of my crack for the work that they had already done, just didn't want to submit without money from me. As far as Dr. Buncke's ability, while struggling to find something that worked for me over my last 6 months with this office, she prescribed a medication on which I had terrible side effects. I didn't realize until after this episode that she had in fact prescribed this medication to me years before and I had the same exact reaction. How am I supposed to trust someone I have been seeing for years when she can't keep her own records of me straight? I am done with this office and I urge everyone to stay away or move on as well. UPDATE 11/11/20: A day after the below message was left, I called the office as they suggested and left a message. As of today, I have not received a call back.

I'm appalled at the negative reviews I've been reading. I was a patient of Dr. Chiarello's for about 10 years before I moved down to Florida. I miss him and I think of him daily. What a WONDERFUL doctor! SO caring, friendly, and professional. He never let me down. He's a brilliant doctor and was always there for me when I needed him. In addition, he's the kindest, sweetest and most attentive doctor that I know of in his field. So easy to talk to and discuss your problems with. If you don't love this doc, there's something wrong with YOU, not him, that's for sure. My only complaint, yes, the staff left MUCH to be desired. I won't name names, but one woman was always a nervous wreck, and didn't seem like she could function with more than one thing at a time. They couldn't seem to handle insurance, and they did appear somewhat incompetent. I would have to fight my way through them to get to speak with Doc. But when I told him that, they got reprimanded. After that, he made sure my calls were put through to him and he always returned them ASAP. Despite the girls at the desk, I recommend Dr. Chiarello HIGHLY!
