        My lawyer was Alex Maltese. When I first went, he made me sign a paper, but hi did not give me a copy, and said I would get 13%.But when my case was over, hi took 33 from me. He didn't explain anything to me. He told me how much I would receive, but again he did not give me any explanation. He just took the check that come to me, took 33% according to his opinion, and wrote his own check and sent it to me. In my opinion, he never aced honestly. He quietly took the money. Please don't make the mistake I made and don't trust him...

      Nezahat, I am sorry to hear that you are still upset. When you retained me you signed a standard retainer that my fee would be one third of the recovery. This comes out to 33%. This is the standard amount that every personal injury attorney in New York charges. As you know my office worked on your car accident case for several years and obtained a very favorable result. There were many challenges including that you may have been responsible for the accident happening. During the course of your case we spoke numerous times and had many meetings in my office. You ultimately were pleased with the final settlement and willingly signed all the closing documents. I am not sure why you think my fee should be 13%. That amount is unheard of in this area of the law. I would be unable to operate as a business if my fee was 13%. I urge you to go and speak to other personal injury attorneys in New York and ask them what the standard fee amount is for contingency representation in a personal injury car accident case.
